CBM Calculator (Single Product)
Calculate CBM, weight and container capacity for a single product or carton using length, width, height, weight and quantity.
Free online tool to calculate cubic meters, volume & weight for shipping and logistics.
CBM (Cubic Meter) is the standard measurement used across sea, air and road freight. Use our CBM Calculator to instantly compute volume, weight, volumetric weight, and container capacity based on your package dimensions.
Enter your carton length, width, height, weight and quantity, and the calculator will show results in cubic meters, cubic feet, kilograms, pounds and how many units fit into 20ft, 40ft and 40ft HQ containers.

CBM is used to understand how much physical space your cargo occupies. Our calculator supports multiple units, predefined products, and standard shipping containers including 20 ft, 40 ft, and 40 ft High Cube models.
Volumetric or dimensional weight applies when a package is large in size but light in weight. Carriers charge based on the space your shipment occupies, not just its actual mass.
The international air-cargo formula is:
Length × Width × Height (cm) ÷ 5000 = Volumetric Weight (kg)
Compare the volumetric weight with the actual weight—whichever is higher is typically used for freight billing.
These dimensions are used for container capacity calculations:
| Container Type | Length (cm) | Width (cm) | Height (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 ft Container | 589 | 230 | 230 |
| 40 ft Container | 1200 | 230 | 230 |
| 40 ft High Cube | 1200 | 230 | 260 |
Key advantages for cargo planning and logistics:
Overall, a CBM calculator improves accuracy, speed and cost-efficiency in day-to-day shipping and logistics.
